Fenik Residence

Fenik Residence

The home was purchased by a newlywed couple who relocated from the bustling New York City and decided to settle in Tucson. The home was in a fantastic location with a functional layout and spectacular views but needed to be updated to fit the standards of their chic but easy going style. We began by removing a few low walls, built–ins and niches to simplify the lines and maximize usable space. The tile floor was past its prime and was replaced by a stained concrete overlay to set the tone for a cool desert atmosphere. The kitchen was transformed by painting the existing cabinets, a new solid surface countertop and a contemporary texture of a stainless steel backsplash mosaic. Living and dining spaces flow into each other but a visually defined by a new bar area and a simple but sleek entertainment unit. The master bath plan was reworked to eliminate the bath tub and include a spacious curved walk –in shower. Two floating vanities give the room a spacious feel while maximizing usable space. Carefully selected lighting was a key feature in this home, various fixtures and control methods provide layers of light to set different moods.
